ANANDA PAVER: Laugh. Guys really like it when girls laugh at their jokes - it will also make you seem friendlier and more approachable. Try to start a conversation about a book you have to read for lectures or tell a story about one of your tuts, try to stick to what you know and what the guy will find interesting. If you are at all interested in sport (i.e. you support Chelsea in the Premier League), start a conversation around that - most guys will support a Premier League team and then you can engage in some witty banter about whose team is the best and so on. Ultimately, guys are fairly simple creatures, try not to feel intimidated - just show them you know how to have a laugh and that you don't take yourself too seriously. Good Luck.

GUGU (LUZANI MOTHOBI): You should not look at them like a foreign species because they are not that different from your brother so just try and get to know them like you would with girls. You just have to adapt and get used to guys. Don't let that guy from your class pressurise you, you will be ready in your own timE. Try and be more open - they say uni is where you meet your future hubby, so get socialing... Anyway hope you make sum guy friends soon.

Act confident, be friendly. Sometimes guys are only rude to girls when they are with a group of friends, as if they need to impress. You will get used to them sooner than you think. Also, when you sit in front of the class, the guys around you are less likely to talk or judge you, because they are focused on the lecturer.

BOTSHELO DITSELE: I think you should at least make an effort to talk to the guys in your class because you might need their help at some point. Don't be hard on yourself though, start with a simple greeting and conversation. If they think you're stuck up, don't try to prove that you not.
