Endometriosis is a medical condition that women get. In these women, the type of cells that form the lining of the uterus show up outside of the uterus and grow in other places, most commonly on the ovaries. The most common symptom is recurring pelvic pain. The severity differs a lot between women that have endometriosis. For some it is very mild and for others severe. It is not clear what causes endometriosis. 5- 10% of women have it. If you suspect that you have endometriosis, it is best to talk about it to a gynaecologist that can confirm this diagnosis and help with a treatment plan.
