Ghetto life was a harsh reality back in the '90s on the Cape Flats. Thabo Twetwa, aka Rattex (or even 'Rah' if you're a close friend or fan) used music as a form of escapism. Today he's an acclaimed SA rapper, who's about more than mumbling profane phrases and sticking gold in his mouth! Rather, his music addresses life-changing issues in our country. He released his debut album, 'Bread and Butter' in October 2008 and has also formed part of the 'Spaza' movement, where lyrics are performed in isiXhosa, English and the infamous Cape Town street slang.
