It really is a girl thing. Even for me it's very important event in my life. It's your last Highschool dance and mostly with someone who you care about and the bonus is you can dress up really nice and arrive in the best cars. It makes us feel like princesses.

"Just a Dance"? its not my matric ball this year..or next year even ...but i would feel that its not about what you wear and where its going to be [ok maybe a little]..but more of a matric ball which would be the one single night where i'd get to have everyone put in the same extra effort that i did ... where everyone's friendly with everyone... all smiles..there wont be time for all the day-to-day drama you get at school... it'd be just you, your fun partner, everyone having fun and looking amazing...and thats how i'd want to remember my high School years**

its not "just a dance" its the last thing that you will do as a grade. matric farewell is just that, a farewell. You get to dress up in stunning dresses and take pictures of yourself with your friends and build more memorys. you get to say good-bye to your friends and peers, its ment to be the highlight of your highschool career and alot of people look back to their matric dance and smile, its almost like a thankyou from the school to you, saying CONGRADS! you're almost there , so go out and have fun :)
