I think it is very sweet & considerate that you don't want to hurt her feelings but the sad truth is that rejection is going to hurt anybody no matter how gently it is done. And as the 'rejector' it is going to be hard for you too but you cannot string her along as that will hurt her more so my advise is to explain to her as nicely as possible that you just not looking for anything more than friendship from her.

The truth is that no matter which way you tell her she will get hurt coz it still one message just tell her the truth that you cant date her then as time goes by she'll get through that coz by not telling you might make things worse

wellll first off start by tellin her how much of a great person she is (on a friendly basis) then tell her the truth, but also mention that all this isn't her fault, there's nothing wrong with her, also mention how much u dont want to hurt her..., and that u think beeing friends might b better..., because only the truth sets u free...

well your girlfriend is lucky to have you consider her feelings,so i think the best way to tell her is to start off by making sure u both are in a good place and that theres no distractions and sit her down and tel her how much you care about her and how much you dont want to hurt her but you dont feel that connection that you had for each other the first time and that you think you guys should take a break and see how you feel after a while and ask her if during that while you guys can still be friends.
