seventeen put Hectic Nine-9 presenters Danilo and Loyiso to the relationship test by asking them dating questions. Read their answers, then ask them your questions by clicking here.

How do you know if you should make the first move?

Loyiso: Some guys are shy. If the guy is paying a lot of compliments, giving you a lot of attention but is not making the final move, it's safe to say he has the Jones for you, but is too scared of rejection. Guys hate being rejected.

Danilo: A guy should ALWAYS make the first move. I never understood that because I can be shy but there's an unspoken deal that guys must make the first move. If he's too shy to make the first move then he'll make it clear enough that he needs you to do it.

Why does my BF get upset when I talk to other guys?

Loyiso: He is obviously insecure and feels threatened. That either means you have to talk to him and reassure him that you only have eyes for him. If the behaviour does not change it obviously means he doesn't trust you. You should then end things because love can't prosper where trust doesn't reside.

Danilo: Because he's insecure in your relationship. He doesn't think he's good enough for you and is scared to lose you – jealousy is a dangerous thing.

Does long-distance ever work?

Loyiso: Yes it does. It requires a lot of trust, patience and understanding. I will admit it is a brave step to take and you cannot make the decision with just your heart. You have to be very realistic when choosing to go long-distance.

Danilo: I managed a loving long-distance relationship for about a year. It can work if you are both dedicated to working through the hard times. You have to be understanding. It's NOT easy at all!

How do I know if a guy likes me?

Loyiso: Is he calling you? Complimenting you even on your bad hair day? Does he look for quirky ways to get your attention? Guess what? HE LIKES YOU!

Danilo: Think about how you would show a guy you like him and you'll spot the signs he's giving. Guys are sometimes quite easy to read but look for the VERY subtle SMSs, stolen glares in your direction and slight touches.

How can I start up a conversation with a guy?

Loyiso: All guys love talking about either sports, cars, games or gadgets. Find out what he likes and let that be your starting point. It will immediately make an impact because you are talking about something that interests him.

Danilo: Simple! Some guys are naturally egotistic – give him attention. Go up to him and ask if he watches sport. Ask him what team he supports or if he doesn't watch, ask him what he does with his spare time. This will allow you to learn about him while also allowing him to fire questions back at you.

What happens if my BFF and I are crushing on the same guy?

Loyiso: Well, if you and your BFF are really BFFs, that guy should be out of bounds to both of you. Have fun whilst both admiring him, but never cross the line because it will compromise your friendship.

Danilo: Talk about it! Friends ALWAYS come before boys! So maybe discuss a strategy to see who he likes more and be happy for the other girl. Having said that, show the guy that you are the best for him.

How do I break up with my BF of two years?

Loyiso: If you are not into the relationship anymore. Sit him down, don't talk about it over BBM or MXit. Tell him how you honestly feel and tell him why you would like to break up. Be honest, tactful and considerate of his feelings.

Danilo: Go visit him and start talking about your issues. If you have been dating for two years then you guys must be able to talk about things. Let him know that you love him but that it's just too hurtful and that you need to grow. Very important: let him know how this will benefit him!

Is it wrong to date my friend's ex? (They broke up 1 year ago)

Loyiso: It all depends on how intense the bond was between your friend and the ex. Were they just casually dating? Then I would say it's cool, but if they were in a serious relationship that lasted a long time then it's never a good idea. Remember: friends first... boyfriends come and go.

Danilo: Not at all. You have full permission. If the dude is attractive and you guys have chemistry then I say go for it! She wasn't right for him so prove that you are!

How do you know if it's time to call it quits?

Loyiso: Your heart and gut are probably your most important tools in figuring this out. If you feel you are not in it anymore, your behaviour and how you feel inside will tell you that. Listen to your heart.

Danilo: When you no longer have the desire every minute of every day to be with the person.

I'm 18 years old and I believe that my BF is 'the one'. Is it wise to get into a serious relationship? Am I too young?

Loyiso: Yes you are. You are still learning about yourself and your preferences. Wait, you're going to meet a lot of amazing people.

Danilo: I found what I thought was 'the one' when I was 18. I'm 20 now and we still think that even though we have broken up. You are never too young – the issue is of maturity! Give him your whole heart – you'll never know if he's 'the one' if you don't give him anything!
